The rise of the Lich King
I rein in and spoke to my warhorse as he prance in the fore of the line eager to charge. My brothers and I that number a mounted troop of 400 human and elven knights facing a sea of humans, orcs, and goblin foot soldiers. I feel fear and excitement war within me as we face our enemies. Our King dressed in his Gold armor rides across the front our troop and a sense of courage fills me as he passes.
The battle is engaged and we charge across the field and quickly my lance breaks. I draw sword and continue to hack and hew my way across the field. We are slaughtering them, but our charge falters as there are too many of the enemy massed on the field. I broke through the back of the field, but few of my brethren has made it to the back side. I take heart as I see our King has made it. I see a black armored knight on a mount with blue fire coming off its feet and is charging at the King. A brother knight then intercepts the Black Knight and is struck by him and only his armor falls to the ground. Another brother has the same dark sorcery happen to him. I then charge the Black Knight and I hit him with a sword cut that nearly cleaves his arm off. It doesn’t affect him and he back swings at me and strikes me from the saddle. I see another brother knight strike him in the helm and crush it. He is also struck down. Lying on the ground I see our King raise his sword to the heavens and strike the Black Knight down, cleaving him from his head into his horse. But alas as my lord cleaves him the Black Knight strikes with his sword into the King and I cry out as I see Leslie King of Alysia struck through the heart. He falls to the ground. I can see into the sky and a glad sight I see as my eyes fade. The griffin riders have arrived and a curtain of arrows and fire falls from the sky onto the dark army. It is too late the Lich King has arrived.
