Monastery at la Roche
The ancient monastery at la Roche is in the mountainous region of Northeastern Riechsvald near the griffon breeding grounds of Ororathoron. The now abandoned and difficult to reach monastery is seldom visited though it is still considered a most holy site by both the Alysian Orthodox and Southern Orthodox Churches.
Most of the buildings are in disrepair with the exception of the central watchtower which is still maintains a functioning roof. There is a large pond on the west side of the monastery grounds giving the old monastery an ample water supply. It is believed to be the final resting place of Edmund Evandale, Black Prince of Innspa as well as Saint Pathius of la Roche. Saint Pathius was a cleric who was martyred for refusing to submit to the Lichking of Sheshak, Zanarus the Defiled on this very site.
